Terms of Service

Who we are

These terms are an agreement between you and Xcelcor (“we”, “us”), the company behind Xcelcor Guardian: the Windows app, your account on xcelcor.com, and the emails we send about it. By creating an account or using Guardian, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Guardian.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 to create an account.
• Use an email address you control. You can sign in with a password or with Google.
• Keep your password private and don’t share your account. You’re responsible for what happens in it.
• Tell us straight away at support@xcelcor.com if you think someone else has got into your account.

Protecting someone else’s PC

Guardian is often installed on a parent’s or an employee’s computer, with someone else approving its connections. If you do that:

• You must own the PC or have the right to manage it, and the person who uses it must know Guardian is installed and who approves its connections.
• As a Trusted Guardian, you decide which connections are allowed. Only approve a connection you have good reason to believe is wanted.
• Guardian refuses connections nobody approves — including genuine ones. A refused support session is Guardian working as intended.

Trials, plans and payment

• The free trial covers one PC. It lasts 14 days from when you link that PC to your account, and doesn’t need a card, so it can’t turn into a charge by itself.
• Paid plans are billed in advance for the period you choose. Current prices are on our pricing page.
• Personal and Family plans are for personal, household use. Businesses need a Business plan.
• Paid plans renew for the same period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• If we change our prices, the change won’t affect a period you’ve already paid for, and we’ll tell you before it applies to you.

Cancelling and refunds

• You can cancel at any time by emailing support@xcelcor.com.
• Cancelling stops the next renewal. Guardian keeps working until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
• Annual plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee: cancel within 30 days of paying and we’ll refund you in full.
• Nothing in these terms takes away refund or cancellation rights you have under consumer law.

Using Guardian properly

Don’t use Guardian or your account to:

• control someone’s computer use without their knowledge, or in a way the law doesn’t allow;
• try to get into another person’s account, or into our systems;
• copy, reverse-engineer or resell Guardian, except where the law allows it;
• interfere with the service or try to overload it.

What Guardian can and can’t do

• Guardian works alongside your antivirus. It isn’t a replacement for it, and it doesn’t make a computer completely safe.
• It refuses new remote connections until someone approves them, and watches approved sessions for signs of trouble. No security product catches everything, and scams keep changing.
• We work to keep Guardian running, but we can’t promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may improve or change it over time.
• Keep your own backups, and take the usual care with your accounts and money.

Liability

• We’re responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care.
• To the extent the law allows, we’re not responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, for business losses, or for losses caused by someone else — including a scammer — or by a connection that you or your Trusted Guardian approved.
• To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Suspending or closing accounts

• You can close your account at any time by emailing support@xcelcor.com.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. Where we reasonably can, we’ll tell you first and explain why.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Guardian changes. We’ll post the new version here with a new date, and tell you by email before any change that matters takes effect. If you keep using Guardian after that, you accept the new terms.
