AnyDesk scams
AnyDesk is a real tool. A stranger telling you to open it is a different matter.
AnyDesk is legitimate remote-support software. Scammers use it because the victim installs something that looks official, then reads out an address code. The code is what lets the stranger connect.
If you did not ask a known technician for support, do not share that code. Close the program and disconnect. The presence of AnyDesk is not, by itself, proof of a crime. An unexpected install, followed by a session you did not request, is the situation to take seriously.
Guardian does not treat the product as the villain. It requires that somebody approve the connection before it happens — and in the default setting that somebody is not the person being talked to on the phone.
