ScreenConnect and ConnectWise scams
Support tools used by real technicians, also abused when a stranger deploys them.
ScreenConnect, now associated with ConnectWise, is remote-support software many IT providers use on purpose. Abuse looks different from a normal visit: an unexpected install, a session you did not book, then another program transferred and run with higher privileges.
If your own IT company is connecting, you should already know them and expect the session. A pop-up or a cold caller telling you to install it is not that relationship.
Businesses that live on remote support need their own technicians to connect without friction while every other session has to be approved by a named person first. That is the Guardian Business problem, not a reason to ban the software.
